Apples & the Internet.

This section is intended to help answer some of the most frequently asked questions related to Hill Creek Farm.

THE QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

How long has the farm been open to the public?

This Fall is the second year when a significant number of apples can be harvested from most trees at Hill Creek Farm. However, everyone should be aware that Mother Nature has been challenging during the past months. Last year's drought and inclement weather combined with a hail storm this summer to limit our harvest. We've been fortunate, however. Many of our apples remain unharmed and ready to pick. So, please join us in harvesting the best of what our orchard has. The trees will continue to be more and more productive as years pass.

What is the cost of three trees?

Sets of three trees (one of each variety, growing side-by-side) are available for $175. Enjoyment and exclusive picking rights extend through December 31, 2009.

Sets of six trees, (two of each variety, all growing side-by-side) are $300. These memberships also extend through December 31, 2009.

Do members get to select their trees?

Yes, you'll get a chance to walk through the orchard and pick out three trees (side by side). The rows are identified by letters and the trees by numbers so you'll always be able to find your trees with ease.

How does the farm keep other people from picking my apples?

We're on an honor system throughout the farm. We expect members to respect others and to police their children when they are scooting arount the orchard.

Is there off-street parking?

Yes, we have a very large, grassy parking area.

Is there a program for school?

Yes, we have a great, free program for classrooms that would like to learn about apples and farming. Call for details: (856) 223-0028.
